A Clean & Buff or qualifying Screen & Recoat can often be completed much faster than a full sanding project.
Full sanding
Sanding includes multiple preparation stages and may include repairs, stain, sealer and finish coats, so it requires more time.
Dry time is not cure time
A coating can be dry enough for limited traffic before it reaches full cure. Follow the specific finish manufacturer’s return-to-use guidance.
Furniture and rugs
Heavy furniture, rugs and pets may need to stay off the floor longer than light foot traffic.
Typical Timelines by Service
Actual timing depends on square footage, floor condition and the finish system used. As general guidance:

Planning Your Home Around the Work
The work days are only part of the schedule. Plan for restricted access to the finished rooms, moving furniture out and back in, and a period where rugs and heavy items should stay off the floor while the finish continues to cure.
Pets and children need a plan too. Dust and fumes are managed during the work, but wet finish and freshly cured surfaces are not places for paws or small hands. If you tell us your constraints up front, we can sequence the rooms so you can keep using part of the house.
