Why Brand Names Matter Less Than Product Type
Rejuvenate, Bona polish and Mop & Glo are marketed as easy shine solutions, but they behave differently on a floor. Some are thin sacrificial coatings, some leave a film, and some soak into micro-scratches. What matters for removal is how much has been applied, over how many years, and what the underlying finish is.
That is why we ask for the product history and test a small area before committing to a method. A method that lifts one buildup cleanly can dull or damage a different floor.
What to Expect During Removal
Removal is done in controlled steps so the original polyurethane is preserved wherever possible. The floor may look worse before it looks better as cloudiness is stripped away, and the true condition of the finish becomes visible.
After removal we re-evaluate. If the finish underneath is healthy, a screen and recoat can follow. If it is worn or damaged, we discuss sanding with you and explain why.

Will removal damage my floor?
Done correctly it should not. That is why we test first and choose the gentlest method that works.
Can I keep using these products in the meantime?
We recommend stopping. Additional layers make removal harder and the results less predictable.
Do not coat over unknown residue
Professional finish should not be applied until compatibility and adhesion concerns are addressed.
